• PE Cups are oil based plastic lining. Must be disposed of in specialised bins and reach a specialised waste facility for the lining and paper board to be separated and recycled.
• PLA Compostable Cups are made from a plant based plastic lining and must be disposed of in specialised bins and reach specialised waste facility for the cups to be industrially composted. It was hoped that PLA would become the answer, however, the sheer difficulty in recycling and the fact that it creates micro-plastics means it doesn't meet EU Single Use Plastic Directives.
• Plastic Free Cups from Real Eco use an aqua based barrier coating. They can be composted both at home and commercially or disposed of in any paper/card waste bin domestically, commercially or in public recycling bin.
